Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Austin Jackson went 3-for-4 and singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, leading the Detroit Tigers to a 6-4 win over the Kansas City Royals in the middle test of a three-game series.
KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Brian Bannister and Luke Hochevar were reinstated from the disabled list Friday and will go back into the Kansas City Royals rotation, while catcher Jason Kendall had surgery to repair extensive damage to his right rotator cuff.
The O-Royals lost the opener at Oklahoma City and were eliminated from playoff contention. Luis Mendoza allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. Jordan Parraz doubled twice and drove in the lone Omaha run.
